Hi, I'm Sajda Nuriddin. In 2006, I obtained a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Syracuse University and 2 years later, I received an MS in Engineering Management from the same school. Since obtaining my bachelor's degree, I spent over 10 years as an energy engineer, using software tools to solve complex math and physics problems meant to reduce energy consumption in buildings.
Math and science wasn't just a theoretical exercise for me, it was a daily applied, real life solvable problem. But I hadn't thought about tutoring before. I was too immersed in the day-to-day survival or being a young professional.
In 2014, however, several years into my journey as an engineer, my brilliant sister, who was and still is a chemistry, physics, anatomy & physiology tutor, was going on an extended work trip. She asked me to fill in for her as a tutor. She had 2 physics students (or "tutees" as she affectionately calls them). I took them on, thinking it would be a fun chance to hone my skills while also helping my sister out. Both students did well in their classes...although I can only take a little bit of credit for that (see comment about my *ahem* BRILLIANT sister). In the end, I liked it so much, I've been hooked ever since!
I had to wrestle with higher level math and physics classes in high school, college, and grad school. Struggling with high school Algebra? Been there. Frustrated with college level calculus? I know the feeling. Fed up with physics-statics, dynamics? Ugh, me too! I'm a private tutor with lots of tools from all those years of study that I'd love to share with you. And if you're only interested in passing, so you can have the mental space for that awesome fine arts class, or get accepted to your dream college, or simply move on with life, I've got your back!
I hope you'll give me a chance to work with you and for you. Together, I'm sure we can get you to SMASH your math and science goals.
Having navigated engineering academics for my undergraduate degree, graduate degree and as a professional, I know how challenging it can be to properly prepare for a career in a STEM field. As a STEM Education Consultant, I can help steer you or your child toward STEM success early through tutoring, curriculum support and mentorship. I specialize in K-12 math, including Common Core math methodology ( and check out my brilliant Singapore Math Youth Consultant here,) geometry, trigonometry, algebra I & II, pre-calculus, as well as calculus I & II. I also tutor in many areas of physics. Contact me today to discuss how we can develop a custom plan that will help you meet your STEM goals!
